Newborn Pictures

Our friend in our ward Lindsay Fagerlund offered to do our newborn pictures and we are so lucky because she did such a great job! If you would like to see her website and photography business go to http://www.seenboxphotography.blogspot.com there is also a link to it on my friends list.
My relief society presidency dropped by a little present a few days ago and with it they dropped off this cute little story that I wanted to share with the newborn pictures.

My Day Old Child
Author: Carol Lynn Pearson

My day old child in my arms
with my lips against her ear
I whispered strongly, "How I wish,
I wish that you could hear,
I've a hundred wonderful things to say"
(A tiny cough and a nod)
"Hurry, hurry, hurry and grow
so I can tell you about God."
My day old baby's mouth was still
and my words only tickled her ear,
but a kind of light passed through her eyes,
and I saw this thought apear,
"How I wish I had a voice and words,
I've a hundred things to say,
before I forget I'd tell you of God,
I left him yesterday."

Paisley Belle Fowlks

So it all started on Wednesday night. I had a Dr. appointment on Thursday and I was hoping big time that I would be able to schedule my induction so on Wednesday I went and got my hair done and pedicures with my sisters and mom it was fabulous. On Thursday at my appointment the Dr. said that I was still only dialated to a 1. I went home sad. I worked my last two shifts on Friday and Saturday night and on Sunday afternoon we head into Salt Lake for dinners with families. We went to Jordan's parents first then to my parents and ate huge dinners. I then was feeling super crampy and I thought it was just because of all the food I ate but as we paid more attention we realized that I was having very distinct pain coming and going about every 6-7 minutes, so we headed into the hospital. At the hospital I was only dialated to a 2 so they gave me a shot of morphine and sent me home. We went home and I completely zonked out until 4:30 am I woke up in horrible pain having contractions every 3 minutes or so. We went back into the hospital and I was then dialated to a 4 so they admitted me and started my IV and my epidural and I was happy. The epidural was amazing. So to make the rest of the story short I layed in the bed for hours and hours and barely progressed at all. At around 3pm Paisley's heart rate started dropping with the contractions and they got worried. Her heart rate continued to get worse and I still wasn't progressing. THey let me know that if I didn't progress fast sometime soon I might have to have a c-section. Finally at about 5pm I went from being a 6 to complete and ready to push. I pushed for 20 mins and she was here. It wasn't that bad but it was still scary. The cord was wrapped around her shoulder and she came out face up, which the Dr let me know is equivalent to pushing out a baby 2 lbs bigger! But everything went great! She is now doing amazing and is so beautiful! I can't believe the miracles and everything that happened to get this baby here and I am so grateful to have her now. We love her more than anything! Here are some pics from everything. We just took our newborn pics today so I will load those on here when I get them, it will probably be about a week til I get them though. Welcome Paisley Belle!

We are ready and waiting!

This is my 36 week picture and the last picture that I will take until I am leaving to go to the hospital! It is so exciting thinking that the next picture on my camera will be me right before I am going to deliver and then it will be of our baby after she has come into the world. This has been the craziest experience with the best ups and downs that I have ever had. I hope that I can endure these last two weeks. I was hoping to get induced at 39 weeks. I am super nervous about going into labor and being home alone or even just at home when my water breaks because average time to the hospital is about 45 mins, but it depends on traffic and what time of day it is. I want an epidural so I am nervous about getting to the hospital in time. So I would like to be induced at 39 weeks which is next friday but I am only dialated to a 1 so I am so far not favorable. They told me at my last appointment that I may have to go all the way to my due date. I have been walking stairs for 20mins three times a night while I am at work and going for long walks but they haven't helped. I hope that my body starts to progress a little more this next week but we will see. These are picutes of the nursery that is finished and the last picture is of our bassinet. My dad made it when my mom was pregnant for the first time so everyone in my family has been in it and my sister has used it for her kids and I think that even some of my cousins have used it when they were babies so it is very special to us and we are grateful to have such a meaningful item for our baby to sleep in. The next post will hopefully be after I have delivered! See ya then!

Baby Showers!

The last few weeks I had all of my baby showers. It was so much fun and I have the best friends and family that did these for me. I forgot my camera on basically all of them but one. My first one I had though my grandma and sisters and family threw for me, then Jordan's aunt Shontelle and his mom Shelli threw me one from their family. I am so sad that I forgot to bring my camera for these two showers! But they were both amazing and I hope they know how much I really appreciated them doing it for me. I then had a friend shower thrown by Teresa, Laura, and Julie. It was so much fun to see everyone that I haven't seen in a really long time. The food was amazing and I have a picture on here of Laura leading the games that we did, they were alot of fun! I then had one more shower thrown by my friend Kara, it was kinda a neighborhood friend shower. It was themed as Dr. Suess if you can't tell and her house was totally decked out! The pictures do not do it justice. I am so grateful for all the hard work she went to, especially since it was a small shower because I don't know too many people in our neighborhood. It was so cute though! The picture of the baby with the hat on is my sister Niki's baby Christopher, it was so cute I just had to post it. Thanks everyone for the amazing showers! They were all so great and I hope you all know how much me and Jordan appreciate all of you for going to all this work for us and all of the presents we got, it has helped us out so much as many of you probably know how expensive a baby can be. Thanks again!

Cabin Vacation

This is our cabin. It is up above Kamas and Oakley. We went up there right after the wedding and stayed for a week. It was such a nice vacation that we totally needed!

This is the road on the way up to the cabin, me and Jordan took a walk one day and Jordan took this picture. It is really pretty.

We got molly to swim so these next two pictures are of her. She loves the little lakes and ponds to run through.

These are pictures of a huge beaver dam that have suddenly appeared, there were at least 3 beavers living there. There were two adults and one baby that we saw. It was alot of fun to sit and watch them.
